TIME TO SELL A VICTORIAN HERITAGE HOME
We were nearing the end of a months-long painting and decorating project in collaboration with William MacDonald, a Toronto-based interior designer, when I got an email from the owners.
“We’re selling the place – can you help us get a few things in order around the house?”
The client’s real estate agent recommended a cosmetic renovation of the master bathroom to help fetch a higher price on the market. As luck would have it, the home they’d always wanted practically fell into their lap — and so they decided to sell this one.
I believe the eagerness to have us take on a major renovation on such short notice was largely due to our proven track record of beating milestones and handling small, random jobs along the way. We were always the “yes” team. If there was a leaky faucet, a creaking stair tread, or a new light fixture to hang, my response was always the same:
“Give me a couple days and I’ll get back to you with a plan and pricing.”
