All successful projects usually have one thing in common: a thorough plan or a map towards success.

In the context of home renovations, a Project Charter serves as that map. Oftentimes, what is not included in the scope of work is almost as important as what is. The last thing anyone wants is to get buried in change orders or face unfavorable surprises at the last minute.

We address these risks through two key strategies: Quantitative-Based Estimating and the development of a Project Charter.

  • Quantitative-based Estimating

    The formula here is simple.

(Labour Hours x Hourly Charge Rate) + Material costs = Accurate Estimate.

We track and analyze production rates from every completed project and plug these numbers into Quickbooks, our estimating software.

We also use third party tools like Bluebeam to calculate precise material take-offs and/or gather this vital data at your home and make it available to you at no cost.

This data-driven approach allows us to deliver accurate, highly detailed quotes within a matter of days — instead of the typical long turnaround times, or worse, never receiving a quote at all.

  • Project Charter

A project charter is not just a quote, but a detailed road map to success.

In short, it’s a written proposal that serves as the backbone of an accountability agreement we make to you and to ourselves.

The faithful execution of every line-item holds each party accountable to carry out the agreed upon scope of work, exactly as written.

We make it a priority to review the proposal with you in detail — because the success of your project, and our reputation, depends on it.

In your quote, you’ll find key information such as:

    • A detailed scope of work, organized by trade division and/or section of the house
Pricing options that provide flexibility to broaden or narrow the scope based on your budget
    Defined material and labour take-offs
    •
A written commitment to the overall budget and timeline
    • A payment schedule directly tied to project milestones
    Written warranty terms and conditions
    • A final fixed-price estimate
